Veterans Day
Veterans day is coming up and hopefully everyone will take a moment to thank the all the Vets and serviceman who risked everything so we can live in freedom. If you haven’t already been watching there is a terrific documentary series on Vietnam on PBS produced by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. It’s simply excellent and doesn’t take political sides. Just tells it Walter Cronkiteesque like his famous sign off “and that’s the way it is” and lets you make up your own mind.

We've been too often disappointed by the optimism of the American leaders...
Both in Vietnam and Washington to have faith any longer in the silver linings they find in the darkest clouds. For it seems now more certain than ever, that the bloody experience of Vietnam is to end in a stalemate. To say that we are closer to victory today is to believe in the face of the evidence, the optimists who have been wrong in the past.
To say that we are mired in stalemate seems the only realistic, if unsatisfactory conclusion. On the off chance that military and political analysts are right, in the next few months we must test the enemy's intentions, in case this is indeed his last big gasp before negotiations.
But it is increasingly clear to this reporter that the only rational way out then will be to negotiate, not as victors, but as an honorable people who lived up to their pledge to defend democracy, and did the best they could.
This is Walter Cronkite. Good night.
After knowing what we now know and new things from this series it’s hard to see how we lived up to even Cronkite’s grim assessment of our failure both to defending democracy and our pledges to our ally.

According to Marc’s research we are void of therapies for viral pathogens…..except for the AEMD Hemopurifier.
“I love reading novels by Tim Willocks. His trilogy, starting with The Religion was not only a book that one could not put down (engrossing!), it was an amazing tour back into the life of a soldier/merchant in the 1500’s. One thing I thought we left back in those times was ‘the Black Death’, the horrible bacterial disease that wiped-out one-third of Europe’s population.
It’s back!
And, in spades. Over the course of just a couple of weeks, the outbreak in Madagascar has grown 10-fold and is now threatening nine other African countries. I’ve added just a couple of graphics about the possible progression of this horrible way to die to express the geometric curse a biological outbreak like this can inflect on a country or group of countries. What is more disheartening is that Bubonic Plague is now being spread through respiration (remember your history: back 500 years ago it was spread via the bites of fleas found on rats.) The good news is that this disease a bacterial disease and can often be stemmed by antibiotics.

Packers didn’t look so crisp without star QB Aaron Rodgers but I thought the new kid Brett Hundley actually looked pretty good for one of his first outings. Lots of armchair criticism but my bet is he’s a rising star. Detroit look out next time.

I wanted to suggest Walter Payton as a subject for your next feature. Known as Sweetness, he was the greatest running back of all time. His story is one of hard work, the willingness to go the extra mile, and talent. Watching him on the football field was a thing of beauty and grace in motion. Watching his life play out he was a humble man who was faced with unfortunate circumstances with his health. He faced those circumstances as he did on the football field, humbly and with grace. Unfortunately his passing was all too soon, but he left behind a legacy filled with sweetness.
